NHL STREET Brings the Energy to 4 Nations Face-Off

Hockey was everywhere in Boston this past weekend, and NHL STREET was right in the middle of it at the 4 Nations Face-Off Fan Village. Even in the rain, kids ages 6 to 16 grabbed a stick, jumped into the action, and got a taste of the fast-paced fun of street hockey.

For three days, kids and parents stepped onto the rink—some for the first time, others seasoned pros—all embracing the game in its purest form: just play, no pressure. Even four-legged fans got in on the fun!

“Seeing so many kids jump in with no hesitation, despite the weather, was the best part of the weekend,” said Tiffany Thomas, Sr. Marketing Manager of Brands and Programs at RCX Sports. “That’s what these events are all about—giving kids a chance to play a game they love, no matter what.”

More Than Just Hockey

Beyond the games, families explored the Fan Village, where hockey history came to life. Fans got an up-close look at legendary artifacts and the Stanley Cup. Watch parties for Finland vs. Sweden and Canada vs. Finland brought the crowd together, with big screens, giveaways, and an atmosphere that felt just as electric as being in the arena.

Making an Impact with Jersey Mike’s SUBS

Our partners at Jersey Mike’s Subs helped fuel the fun, keeping spirits high and reinforcing their commitment to growing the sport at the grassroots level.

“If you talk to any ice hockey player, they got their start in their driveway. And that’s really what NHL STREET is all about—creating access to the game,” said Tom Garavaglia, Director of NHL STREET.

Hockey for Everyone

Even with the rain, the energy never faded. And with NHL STREET continuing to expand, this weekend in Boston was another reminder of why these events matter. Bringing accessible, inclusive sports to communities isn’t just about the game; it’s about inspiring the next generation of players.

“We’re always looking for people who want to run their own leagues,” says Tom. “And the best part? You don’t need hockey experience to bring NHL STREET to your community.”
